Master bedroom closet...help!!

So the bedroom is painted and my man is about three rows away from finishing the flooring!  Now I am hoping to get the closet finished so I can start putting stuff away.  I had posted pictures of the bedroom here.

So as you can see the side of the closet where the clothes are going is very slanted.  I am trying to come up with storage solutions to make the best use of the space.  The closet is 26ft long so it's not as simple as just installing a rod from each side wall :(

Here are some ideas I've found:

What do you think?  Does anyone else have a closet like this that has any other ideas?

Our new baby!

My fiance has been trying to convince me for over a year that we should bet a brother for our boxer Lili.  Well, he finally won and we picked up our new puppy October 28th.  He is a male Cane Corso from Grizzly Mountain Cane Corso in Montana.  Lee is a hockey guy so he picked the name Easton...like the hockey stuff.

He is pretty cute!  Now if he could only get the hang of house training!  He actually has been good the past week (knock on wood) so we'll see how it goes.

I'll post more pics soon! He is getting big so fast.  Lee had to go buy an XL kennel for him today because he already outgrew the one he was flown in!

Oh my.....

Our master suite...before!

We are in the final stages of our master suite remodel and its time for the fun stuff!

So here are some in-progress pics to give you an idea of what we've been doing:

That's the back door...and the staircase leading up to the master bedroom.  The walls were covered in tongue and groove wood.  We tore it off and replaced it with drywall.

We don't have the electrical totally finished so don't mind the dark stairwell.  It has a loft feel...and no door.  We put up that small wall instead of a stair case for a bit of privacy.   **A must have for renovating: a plastic wine glass!!**

This is what you see when you first walk up the stairs.  It is a nice big, open space with sloped ceilings on both sides.  My fiance is 6'7" so he walked until he hit his head and that's where the wall went on the right.  On the left we are going to have custom built ins along the whole wall that come out so that both sides are even.

Can you tell what's on his t-shirt?? We got that shirt when we bought two cowhide rugs at Country Fest in Wisconsin this summer.  My man bugs me that I am the only girl he knows that can still spend $500 while in the middle of a cow field!

My man cutting drywall+ very awkward angles and cuts= a LOT of wasted drywall! See that door on the left by the staircase?  That's my closet!!!  It is 28ft long and runs the whole length of the 2nd floor! I CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE A PROPER CLOSET AGAIN!!!  Below is a pic of the inside...

When I moved in we had to do some MAJOR re-arranging of clothes....and everything else he had in the house just to fit "some" of my clothes! I am only 5'2" so I can pretty much do cart wheels in there! I am brainstorming ideas for how to set it up??  Any ideas?

This is our master bathroom.  We are going to put a walk in shower against the farthest wall.  Besides that, the rest is hard to explain.  I will post pictures of it with the walls framed once I get some so you can get a better idea.

Working hard!

So this is pretty much where it sits right now.  I started cutting in with primer last night and the framing is done in the bathroom.

This is the colour that we are using for the entrance, stairwell and bedroom.  It is very open so we figured we would keep it monochromatic and  light.  The flooring we are using is a dark hand scraped birch which is another reason we are going light.

I will do another post to keep you updated when the painting is done...hopefully next week!

What do you guys think so far?!

OK....so here goes nothing

-image via here

I've been wanting to start a blog for a while now...and I'm not quite sure what I was scared of.  I loved reading other blogs, actually more like addicted to reading other blogs! So I decided to jump in and just do it. I have officially decided to live my life by the 3 simple quotes above and see how it goes.  I've also wanted to start an interior decorating business for several years.  I had the mind set that I didn't want to give up my "so called" great day job for something unpredictable and also didn't have the slightest clue as to where to start.

As the years have gone by my priorities have changed.  My fiance has helped me realize what is important in life.  Not only has he supported me in whatever endeavor I've wanted to take on, but most importantly he has helped me understand that life is too short not be doing what you love.   I've never been so driven to succeed at something before!! I hope that this blog allows me to not only share my inspirations, but helps my business grow as well!!

Jump on and enjoy the ride!!

xoxo Karen
